Microwave flow switch -suitable for reliable performance of various bulk materials Contact Microwave Flow Detector Measurement Principle The microwave flow switch is a microwave motion detector that utilizes the Doppler effect. The electronics emit a signal that is reflected by the moving material. When the material moves, the frequency of the return signal is either higher or lower than the frequency of the transmitted signal. If the frequencies of the two signals are the same, there is no motion at this time. The microwave flow switch measures the difference in frequency between the transmitted microwave and the reflected wave. Changes in the microwave energy that can be received (eg, due to accumulated material in front of the antenna) have no effect on the flow/no flow detection. Technical Features The Microwave Flow Switch is a non-contact flow sensor ideal for detecting the flow of solid materials from pipes, chutes, wind conveyors, vibrating troughs, belt conveyors and bucket elevators. Real-time flow information makes the air-curing process more precise, which enables: □ □ □ □ □ Increased reliability Reduced downtime Reduced damage to equipment and operators Reduced waste of raw materials Reduced waste Automatic control through automatic opening and closing of equipment Efficient use of equipment and energy, thus: □ □ □ Reduce equipment wear and reduce maintenance and equipment failures. Energy savings The high efficiency of microwave switches enables the plant to quickly recoup its investment. The microwave flow switch has no moving parts, which eliminates wear and maintenance and thus does not cause equipment failure. □ Microwave technology allows for non-contact installation without direct contact with process materials. The sensor is kept away from the unfavorable process site and is guaranteed to be used carefree for many years. Detecting microwaves through the pipe wall can penetrate insulating materials such as plastic, glass and wood, and the effects of these materials on microwaves are negligible. Therefore, the microwave flow switch has the ability to penetrate the insulated thick wall. A closure made of insulating material does not affect the signal. This makes the installation of the microwave flow switch very easy. The external installation keeps the process closed so that hazardous processes or high pressure/high temperature systems can be detected from outside safe areas.
